The 29th Indian Infantry Brigade remained in active service from 1941 to 1945. It was raised as an infantry formation in October 1940 by the British Empire in India. It was developed from the 21st Indian Infantry Brigade, as a part of the British Indian Army. The troops of the infantry formation took part in several campaigns and battles during the Second World War.
Initially the 29th Indian Infantry Brigade was attached to the 5th Indian Infantry Division. It participated in the Western Desert Campaign and the East African Campaign. During the First Battle of El Alamein, the troops took part in the military operations at Fuka and suffered heavy casualties and were destroyed.

* 1st Battalion, 2nd Punjab Regiment (January 1942)
* 2nd Battalion, Highland Light Infantry (June 1942)
