28th Indian Infantry Brigade

The 28th Indian Infantry Brigade was one of the former infantry forces of the British Indian Army. The brigade was formed at Secunderabad, Andhra Pradesh in March 1941 by the British Empire in India during the Second World War. The military formation remained in active service for a very brief period from the year 1941 to 1942. The brigade was initially attached with the 6th Indian Infantry Division.

The troops of the 28th Indian Infantry Brigade were stationed in Malaya in September 1941. It was assigned to the 11th Indian Infantry Division and Indian III Corps. The brigade took part in several military operations under the British administration, such as, the Battle of Malaya, the Battle of Singapore, the Battle of Slim River and the Battle of Jitra. The 28th Indian Infantry Brigade surrendered on 15 February 1942 along with the rest of the Commonwealth forces.

• 3/16th Punjab Regiment
• 2/16th Punjab Regiment
