1st Indian Cavalry Brigade

The 1st Indian Cavalry Brigade was a former cavalry formation that functioned under the British Empire in India from 1903 to 1940. The brigade was formed as a part of the British Indian Army in September 1939 on the North West Frontier. The troops provided military service during the First World War and the Second World War. In January 1940, the brigade was re-structured and designated as the 1st Indian Motor Brigade.

* 13th Duke of Connaught`s Lancers
* 1st Guides Infantry
* 14th Murrays Jat Lancers
* 21st Lancers
* Queen Victoria`s Own Corps of Guides (Frontier Force) Lumsden`s Cavalry
* 1st Duke of York`s Own Skinner`s Horse
* M Battery Royal Horse Artillery

During World War II, the infantry formation included the following regiments-
* 5th King Edward VII`s Own Lancers
* 16th/5th Lancers
* 13th Duke of Connaught`s Own Lancers
* 5/12th Frontier Force Regiment
* 9th Royal Deccan Horse
* 10th Queen Victoria`s Own Frontier Force
