18th Indian Infantry Brigade

The 18th Indian Infantry Brigade was raised in 1939 as an infantry formation. It was formed during the Second World War and served under the British Indian Army. The brigade remained in active service till 1943. The 18th Indian Infantry Brigade was established at Meerut in October 1940 by the British Empire in India. It was initially attached to the 8th Indian Infantry Division.

Later detachments of the brigade were sent to Abaden in Persia to take part in the Anglo-Soviet invasion of Iran. The troops were attached to the 10th Indian Infantry Division in June 1942 and were stationed in North Africa. There it actively participated in the North African Campaign. The brigade suffered heavy casualties during the military operations in North Africa. The remaining troops were attached with the 5th Indian Infantry Division. Eventually the 18th Indian Infantry Brigade was dissolved in August 1942.

* 4/11th Sikh Regiment (April 1942 - July 1942)
* 2/11th Sikh Regiment (August 1942)
