100th Indian Infantry Brigade

100th Indian Infantry Brigade was founded at Jhansi by the British Empire in India in April 1941. It served under the British Indian Army during the Second World War.

The 100th Indian Infantry Brigade was formed during the Second World War as an infantry unit under the administrative authority of the British Indian Army. It was founded at Jhansi by the British Empire in India in April 1941. The brigade remained in till the year 1945. The troops were attached with the 34th Indian Infantry Division. However in 1943, the former infantry brigade was assigned to the 20th Indian Infantry Division. The troops served under the control of the 20th Division until the culmination of World War II.

Formation of 100th Indian Infantry Brigade
The 100th Indian Infantry Brigade consisted of a number of infantry regiments. These are numbered as follows-
* 9/14th Punjab Regiment (April 1941 - June 1943)
* 9/12th Frontier Force Regiment (April 1941 - July 1942; March to April 1944)
* 2nd Border Regiment (July 1942 - April 1945)
* 14/13th Frontier Force Rifles (April 1941 - August 1945)
* 114th Field Regiment, Royal Artillery (January 1944 - March 1944)
* 4/10th Gurkha Rifles (June 1943 - November 1944; December 1944 - August 1945)
* 1/1st Gurkha Rifles (April 1945 - August 1945)
* 4/2nd Gurkha Rifles (April 1945 - August 1945)
