Gairkata is a census town in Jalpaiguri district of the eastern state of India, West Bengal. 
According to the 2001 census report, Gairkata had a small population of 8713 inhabitants. Males constitute 51% of the population and females constitute 49% of the population. In Gairkata, 12% of the population is less than six years of age. Gairkata has an average literacy rate of 66%,  which is higher than the national average literacy rate of 59.5%. The  male literacy rate is 72%, and the female literacy rate  is 59%.
