Yajnavalkya was the great master, who guided a large number of people, including King Janaka to the commonest students, on the path of enlightenment. He was a real intelligent person with a great knowledge about the ancient Indian philosophy and he had the credit of producing the `Shukla Yajurveda`. Yajnavalkya was born at an auspicious time, on the seventh day of the month of Kartik and he had the habit of regularly worshipping the God of Fire through yajnas and yagas, after coming into the world.
Yajnavalkya was the owner of the divine radiance like Vajneshwara and that is why, his neighbours and relatives used to call him as, Yajnavalkya from his early childhood. It was his father, who gave the great Gayatri Mantra to Yajnavalkya for the very first time and his father also sent him to Gurukula for further education. He easily won the love and admiration of everybody in his Guru`s ashram, within a few days.
Various sages imparted Yajnavalkya with the knowledge of the Vedas, at a later period and he also became a visionary, by the blessings of the Sun God. He was blessed with the vision of mantras, Mahnrashi and also Brahmarshi and he possessed the divine knowledge. He actually wrote the experiences of his own life in the form of `Shukla Yajurveda`. He left the earthly abode at the foot of the Himalayas, while he was performing remission.
