Tiruneittanam Temple is the seventh of the Tiruvaiyaru Saptastana Temples and is the 52nd in the series of Tevara Stalams located north of the river Kaveri.

Legend: Saraswati worshipped at this shrine. Kamadhenu and Gowtama muni also worshipped Shiva here. Dakshinamurthy is found here in a standing posture.

Temple: There are two prakarams and a grand 75 feet tall Rajagopuram. The Ambal shrine is located in the outer prakaram. This temple covers an area of two acres. Inscriptions from the Chola period as well as those of a ruler from Srilanka are seen in this temple.

Festivals: The Saptastana festival here, where festival images of Shiva from Tiruvaiyaru are taken in procession to each of the seven Saptastana temples is of great significance.
