Thirupperumpuliyur TempleThirupperumpuliyur Temple is the 53rd in the series of Tevara Stalams located north of the river Kaveri. Vyagrapadar (the saint with tiger`s claws and feet) worshipped here. This temple covers 1.5 acres and has a three-tiered Rajagopuram. The main shrine and the Ambal shrine faced the east. The Navagraha shrine is designed so that eight of the celestial bodies face the Surya. The niche enshrined with Lingodbhava is enshrined with Ardhanareeswara. There are shrines to Surya, Ganesha and Skanda. Inscriptions from the period of Raja Raja Chola are seen here.
