The Thal Brigade was one of the tactical infantry formations of the British Indian Army during the Second World War. It was raised in September 1939 under the British Government of India. The brigade was formed for providing military service in the North West Frontier. The brigade remained in active service till the year 1945. The brigade fought in a number of British battles and military operation during the war.
Some of the most reputed British commandants of the Thal Brigade are Brigadier Ralph Deedes and Brigadier M. L. A. Gompertz.
