Etymology of Tenneti Beach
The beach is named after the Tenneti Park which is located near the beach. Both the beach and the park are named in the honour of Tenneti Viswanadham, a freedom fighter and political leader of Vishakhapatnam.

Location of Tenneti Beach
It is located at Vizag or Vishakhapatnam in the Andhra Pradesh state of India. It lies on the shoreline of the Bay of Bengal and is very close to the Kailasa Giri Hills.

Climate of Tenneti Beach

During summer, the temperature reaches to the highest level of 45 degree C or more than that. During winter, the temperature varies from 18 degree C to 32 degree C. Hence, summers are extremely hot and winters are pleasant. During monsoon, the beach experiences heavy rainfall of around 945 milliliters.

The main attractions of the beach are its picturesque location and mesmerizing ambiance. Home to crystal clear water, the beach is surrounded by serene lush greenery, stunning mountains and the beach park. Tourists can visit the Kailasa Giri Hill located near the beach. On the top of this hill, people can enjoy toy train ride and view the surrounding natural sceneries. It is said that the sun rise and sun set on the Tenneti beach from the Kailasa Giri Hills is marvelous. Then from the Tenneti Beach Park, located on the hill top, people can enjoy viewing the blue waters of Bay of Bengal surrounded by lush greenery and lovely mountains. All these factors make this beach a dream destination.

Visiting Information of Tenneti Beach
The ideal time to explore the Tenneti beach is during the months of November to February as the temperature is moderate at that time. The beach is well-linked via airway, railway and roadway. The nearest airport is Vizag Airport which connects all the major cities like Chennai, Kolkata, Delhi, Bangalore and Mumbai to the beach. The nearest railhead is Vizag Railway Station and many superfast and express trains have stoppages at this station. The road network also connects this beach to various major cities. Tenneti beach has a number of accommodation facilities ranging from hotels to guest houses.
