Sunburn Festival is a delightful electronic dance festival which is conducted at Candolim Beach in the state of Goa, every year. Appreciated as the 9th Best Festival by CNN in the year 2009, the Sunburn Festival is a beautiful blend of shopping, food, music and entertainment. It is held for a period spanning three days, and comprises numerous stages, wherein simultaneous performances are delivered by the artists and musicians jointly. In the year 2013, Sunburn Festival was organised on 27th December, 28th December and 29th December. This famous festival appeals to innumerable music lovers, not only in India but also throughout the world.
History of Sunburn Festival
Sunburn Festival 2007 had hosted Goa`s very first International Dance Festival which was finalised on 28th and 29th December at Candolim Beach. DJ pearl, Jalebee Cartel, Abobe and Beyond, Pete Gooding, Axwell and Fleming were amongst the performers. The 2008 Mumbai terrorist attacks failed to dampen the enthusiasm of the Sunburn Goa Festival 2008, which took place one month prior to the musical event. `Circus Stage` for House Music and `Banyan Tree` were the main two stages of the festival whose theme was `Electric Circus`. Above 22, 000 fans were present at the 2009 Sunburn Festival where an `After Dark` series was launched, which made it a round the clock festival. That year Sunburn joined hands with Gatecrashers, an UK clubbing company. DJ Sanjay Dutta, Richard Durand, Ferry Corsten, Paul Van Dyk, DJ Ma Faiza, DJ Anish Sood and other musicians spiced up the Sunburn Festival 2010.
A grand fashion show was held on 27th December, 2010 which witnessed the celebration of the Sunburn Anthem Contest and the participants were requested to prepare a brand new remix of `Love Story` by Nadia Ali. The Sunburn Festival was organized in Noida in 2012, while it was also organized in Goa during the same year. While Infected Mushroom, Spartaque, Axwell, etc. were the main performers at the Sunburn Festival 2011, the 2012 Sunburn Festival in Goa bore testimony to the performances of Sander Van Doorn, W and W, Roger Sanchez, Paul Van Dyk and others. Sunburn Festival 2013 was organized on 15th and 16th November and included the performances of Fedde Le Grand, Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike, Paul Van Dyk, Tom Staar, Josh Wink, Adam Beyer, DJ Nash, etc.
