Sirukudi Temple is situated at a place(Sirkudi) that is 60th in the series of Tevara Stalams located south of the river Kaveri. Shiva is portrayed here as Santoshaalinganamoorthy.
Legend: Garudan, Mars and the Gandharvas worshipped in this shrine known as Sookshmapuri. Legend has it that Parvati worshipped Shiva in the form of a Shivalingam made with a handful of earth hence the name siru-pidi changed to Sirukudi. The Shivalingam here is a prithvilingam and so no Abhishekam is offered. The image of Santoshaalinganamurthy is of great significance here. Also called Mangalambika, worshipping here on Tuesdays is considered auspicious.
Temple: This east facing temple has a three-tiered Rajagopuram. There are shrines here to Mangalavinayakar and Subramanyar.
Festivals: Maasimagam and Arudra Darisanam festivals are celebrated here.
