Simbalbara Sanctuary is a famous wildlife sanctuary which is present in Paonta Valley of Sirmour District, particularly near the foothills of Shivalik Mountain Ranges which belongs to the state of Himachal Pradesh. This wildlife reserve is being conserved by the Travel and Tourism Department of Himachal Pradesh. This sanctuary is believed to contain some of the most magnificent forest belts of Paonta Valley. Therefore this region offers tempting trekking opportunities to enthusiastic adventure and wildlife lovers. Nature lovers would be delighted to find themselves amidst the calm atmosphere of this sanctuary, which is complete with different types of forests and wildlife. Flora of Simbalbara Sanctuary
Dense Sal Forests and various other types of trees and shrubs grow within the premises of Simbalpara Wildlife Sanctuary. Visitors would be pleasantly embraced by the sound of a perennial stream which gurgles through the sanctuary. A thick green carpet of grass enhances the natural charm of this wildlife sanctuary whose forests act as excellent natural habitats for its numerous wild creatures. There exist wonderful walking pathways amidst these lush forests which are often employed by travellers visiting this sanctuary.
Fauna of Simbalbara Sanctuary
Wild Boar, Leopard, Sambar, Himalayan Black Bear, Rhesus Macaque, Chital, Goral, Indian Muntjac, Crested Porcupine, Common Langur and Spotted Deer are only a few of the numerable wild beasts which reside in the grounds of Simbalpara Wildlife Sanctuary. Some endangered species of animals, birds and reptiles are also found here.
One must pay visit this sanctuary during the winter season particularly between the months of October and November. There exists a rest house in Simbalbara Sanctuary wherein travellers often stay when they visit the sanctuary.
