The Sibsagar Mounted Rifles unit was a cavalry regiment under the British Colonial Auxiliary Forces Volunteer Corps of British Indian Army. The volunteer corps regiment was based in Assam. The army unit was raised on 29th February 1884 and on 30th April 1886 it was renamed as Sibsagar Mounted Infantry.
In 1889, the military force was again re-designated to its original title of Sibsagar Mounted Rifles. The Sibsagar Mounted Rifles was merged with various other British Indian volunteer corps units in order to develop the Assam Valley Mounted Rifles in the year 1891.
