Shweta Varahaswamy Temple is located at the southern entrance of Mysore Fort. Sri Shweta Varahaswamy Temple exhibits temple architecture of Hoysala Empire. The stone image of Shweta Varahaswamy in Shweta Varahaswamy Temple was at first consecrated at a temple at Srirangapatna by Chikka Devaraja Woodeyar.

There are images of Srivaishnava Acharyas, Desikar and Jiyar, in the temple which were presented by Krishnaraja Wodeyar III in 1829.

There are several inscriptions in the Shweta Varahaswamy Temple that belong to different periods. The southern wall of the shrine of the goddess has one such inscription that belongs to the early 13th century.

Sri Shweta Varahaswamy Temple is enclosed within high walls. The tower and pillars of this temple have intricate carvings. The inner walls of Navaranga display murals that narrate stories of Lord Krishna from the Bhagavad Gita. One such mural of Lord Rama Pattabhisheka can be found on the south eastern wall of Navaranga.

The temple also possesses some contributions from Woodeyer Kings. Among them are the two images of Srivaishnava Acharya - Jiyar and Desikar, with valuable inscriptions on them. The interior and exterior walls of the Shweta Varahaswamy Temple are beautifully carved with magnificent murals, making it one of the greatest temples in Mysore. Shweta Varahaswamy Temple is attracted by the pilgrims and the tourists for the Lord and also the ancient paintings made from natural colour.
