Shraavana

Shraavana is the month of the Hindu calendar.

Shraavana, Hindu MonthShraavana also known as Sawan is a month of the Hindu calendar. Shraavan is the tenth month of the year, beginning in the month July and ending on month of August.

Shraavana in the lunar religious calendars either begin on the new moon or on the full moon around the same time of year.

In solar religious calendars, Shraavan commences with the Sun`s entry into Cancer, and is usually the fourth month of the year.

Shraavana is also the name of the lunar mansion in Mrigavati in the southern Avasthana.
