Satdhara is an archeological site consisting of stupas and viharas. It is located at a distance of 9 km west of Sanchi, Madhya Pradesh. Sanchi is encompassed by stupas, which are divided in four groups- Bhojpur and Andher in the southeast, Sonari to the southwest, Satdhara to the west and Saru Maru to the south. The stupas have been discovered by Major Cunningham. There are 29 stupas on the site of Satdhara most of which have been reconstructed.

Stupas of Satdhara
The word Satdhara means seven streams. The stupas of Satdhara are situated on 28 acres of land on the banks of Halali River. The stupas are 13 meters in height; some of them have been disheartened and some of them have been renovated. Earlier there were 14 monasteries on that site, later they all got destroyed due to lack of proper care.
