Before stepping into films, she was a model and has acted in over 50 ad films. Her Tamil film Silambattam bagged her ITFA Best New Actress Award in 2009 in Singapore. In 2012, she participated in the Indian celebrity reality TV show Bigg Boss Season 6 and stood third in the show.

Early Life of Sana Khan
She was born on 21 August 1987 in Mumbai. Her father is from Kerala and her mother is from Mumbai. After completing her high school, Sana started focusing on modelling and thus she couldn"t continue her further education.

Film Career of Sana Khan
Sana made her debut in 2005 with the low-budget adult Hindi film Yehi Hai High Society. In the following years, she made special appearances in films like E (Tamil), Bombay to Goa (Hindi) and Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal (Hindi). Her big brake came in the year 2008 when she got to enact a talkative, tomboyish Brahmin village girl named Janu in the film Silambattam. It was her debut Tamil film which was directed by cinematographer-turned-director S. Saravanan. The film bagged her ITFA Best New Actress Award in 2009 in Singapore. In 2008 she also appeared in a Hindi film titled Halla Bol. Her next Tamil film was Thambikku Indha Ooru in 2010.

Sana Khan, Indian Actress Later in 2010, she stepped into the Telugu film industry, appearing in Nandamuri Kalyan Ram`s Kalyanram Kathi. Her next project was bilingual thriller Gaganam / Payanam - shot in Telugu and Tamil, respectively. The film, based on an aircraft high-jack theme, was released in 2011.

In 2011, she also tried her luck in Kannada film industry with Kool...Sakkath Hot Maga which marked the directorial debut of Ganesh. In the same year, she worked in a Tamil film titled Aayiram Vilakku, in which she essayed the role of a Madurai girl.

In 2013, Sana made her debut in Malayalam film industry with Climax. The film is loosely based on the Hindi film The Dirty Picture and she essayed the role of late South Indian actress Silk Smitha. Some of her other films are Mr. Nookayya (Telugu), Oru Nadigayin Diary (Tamil), Thalaivan (Tamil), Jai Ho (Hindi) and Great Grand Masti (Hindi).

Television Career of Sana Khan
Apart from films, Sana has also worked in several reality television shows. In 2012, she participated in the Indian celebrity reality TV show Bigg Boss Season 6. The show garnered her much popularity and she stood third in the show. Next, she participated in Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi (season 6) in 2015 but was eliminated soon.

She has also appeared in a number of television commercials and other ad films. Khan has acted in over 50 ad films, including a cosmetic commercial directed by Shirish Kunder in July 2007. She has also done a commercial for the deodorant brand, Secret Temptation; Yatra.com and Xbox 360 video game console.
