Samudra Narayan Temple is an ancient temple located in the temple town of Dwaraka in Gujarat. One of the most interesting facts is that this temple is facing towards the westward direction. There is a sacred kund or tank in Samudra Narayan Temple, where several ceremonial sacrifices are performed. Samudra Narayan Temple is also located close to a meditation cave, Manoratha Dwar, where saints are seen engrossed in meditation. Samudra Narayan Temple is surrounded by Panchanada Tirtha, which comprises of five wells that have sweet water and it is believed that this water is one of the sacred water in the western circuit of India.

Samudra Narayan Temple has three sides. Samudra Narayan Temple is painted beige and white in colour. There are five steps leading to the temple entrance. There is a small cave-like room that had an idol of Goddess Gomti. Here, the locals worship the Gomti in the form of a Goddess. Goddess Gomti sits on a lion, reminiscent of Goddess Durga.

Samudra Narayan Temple is dedicated to Samudra Narayan and Goddess Gomti. Lord Krishna and Lord Vishnu are known as Samudra Narayan, which means `Narayan residing in the Sea`. This is probably because the temple is located at the tip of the Arabian Sea. To the left of Samudra Narayan is an idol of Goddess Gomti.

Near Samudra Narayan Temple, there is also a Chakra Narayana Temple which is also located near the tip of Arabian Sea. Samudra Narayan Temple features a stone marked with a chakra that manifests Lord Vishnu. Samudra Narayan Temple is very close to the confluence of Gomti River and Arabian Sea. The main idols of Samudra Narayan Temple enshrined in the temple are that of Samudra Deva, Lord Varuna, Mother Astha Bhavani and Mira Bai.
