Roma Asrani, South Indian ActressRoma Asrani is an Indian model turned actress who predominantly works in Malayalam-language films. She got her first break through her debut Malayalam film "Notebook". The film was a huge success garnering positive reviews from both critics and audience. Asrani too received appreciation for her performance. Simultaneously, she went on to appear in varied south Indian language movies including Tamil, Telugu and Kannada. Asrani is the recipient of several awards like Youth Heroine Award, Filmfare Award etc.



Early Life of Roma Asrani
Roma Asrani was born on August 25, 1984 to Muralidhar and Madhu in Trichy, Tamil Nadu. Her parents are from Delhi but later settled in Chennai.


Career of Roma Asrani
Asrani stepped into the Malayalam film industry with the Roshan Andrews directed movie "Notebook". The success of the film made her a household name in the industry. She was declared the best newcomer by Kerala Film Critics Association, Asianet, Amrita TV and Kalakeralam. Her second film "July 4" which released in 2007 was a flop. However, it was a notable one. Her next venture "Chocolate" with Prithviraj happened in the same year. The movie was a big hit and was a turning point in her career. She was also seen in a music album named "Malayalee". The album provided her opportunity to work with popular singer Vineeth Sreenivasan and actor Prithviraj for the song "Minnalazhake", which was a big hit in south India. Along with that, she has also worked in another music album named "Born in Kerala" in the song "Arennile". Her other Malayalam projects include "LollyPop", "Colours", "Utharaswayamvaram", "Traffic", "Kathayile Nayika", "Mohabbat", "Chappa Kurishu", "Doubles", "Casanovva", "Grandmaster" and "Face to Face".


Asrani"s tryst with Telugu films, Tamil films and Kannada films happened in the years 2005, 2006 and 2007. Her debut Telugu movie was "Mr. Errababu", Tamil movie was "Kathale En Kathale" while Kannada movie was "Aramane" which starred Ganesh in the lead. She further appeared in the Telugu industry after a break in the movie "Chalaki" in 2010. She has also worked in some of commercial ad films.
