Ritu, Seasons in Hindu Calendar

There are six ritus in the Hindu calendar which are the six seasons.

There are six seasons in the Hindu calendar known as Ritus. The six ritus are Hemanta or winter, December to February; Shishira or spring, February to April; Vasanta, April to June; Greeshma or summer, June to August; Varsha or rainy season, August to October and Sharadh or autumn, October to December.

The seasons are described in the Sanskrit poem Ritu Samhaaram.
