Rewakund

Rewakund is one of the popular historical sights of Madhya Pradesh. Rewa kund is the name of a shahi water reservoir which was built to supply water to Rani Roopmati’s palace.

This giant water reservoir was constructed by Baz Bahadur who used to rule over Mandu in the 16th century. Covering a huge area this water reservoir is known as a sacred tank that collects water from sacred River Narmada. As the reservoir is situated below Rani Roopmati`s pavilion it adds to architectural superiority as water was pushed from lower level to higher levels. Surrounded with stone corridors and pavilions along with lavish greenary it provides on of the most scenic sights in Mandu. With its architectural grandeur Rewakund is considered as one of the most important historical sights that add to the tourism of Mandu in Madhya Pradesh.

Thus with its constructional superiority this place attracts a large number of tourists who visit the tank to have splendid day out.
