Regonda is a small village and a mandal nestled in the Telangana state of India. It is situated in the Warangal district of Telangana. The village is located 40 km northeast of the district capital of Warangal. According to the constitution of India and Panchyati Raaj Act, Regonda village is administrated by Sarpanch or Head of Village who is elected representative of village. The official language of Regonda is Telugu.

History of Regonda
Between the years 2002-2003, estampage was collected from the districts of Telangana including Warangal and Ranga Reddy. A short label inscription comprising of three lines dealing with `Utapatti Pidugu` was collected from Pandavulagutta, Revulapalli, Regonda Mandal and Warangal district.

According to Population Census 2011, the Regonda village had population of 4313, of which 2142 were males while 2171 were females. The population of children with age 0-6 was 442 which make up 10.25 % of total population of village.

As per 2011, the literacy rate of Regonda village was lower compared to Andhra Pradesh. Compared to 67.02 % of Andhra Pradesh, it had literacy rate of 54.09 %. The Male literacy stood at 61.81 % while the female literacy rate was 46.59 %.

Religious Significance of Regonda
Sri Laxminarasimhaswamy temple is one of the significant religious places in the village of Regonda. This sacred shrine is located in Kotancha, just 10 km away from Regonda. Every year, the temple draws lakhs of pilgrims and tourists from varied distant places of the country. Pandavula Guttalu is another religious place which is also popular among the devotees.

It is believed that Telangana is mentioned in the epic Mahabharata as the Telinga Kingdom. The Kingdom is said to have been inhabited by the tribe known as Telavana, who fought on the Pandavas side in the great war of Kurukshetra. There is also Pandavula Guhalu in Warangal district where the Pandavas spent their life in exile.
