Rajputana Malwa Volunteer Rifle Corps

The Rajputana Malwa Volunteer Rifle Corps was a former infantry regiment of the Auxiliary Forces under the British Indian Army. The volunteer corps regiment was formed on 8th August 1882. The military force was a part of the Bombay command and was also administered by the Bombay Army of Bombay Presidency. The army unit consisted of staff from the Rajputana Malwa State Railway which was the first railway in the country to be developed to metre gauge standards. It was established and controlled under the protection of the British Government of India.

Later in the year 1887, the Rajputana Malwa Volunteer Rifle Corps Regiment was merged with other volunteer corps and was designated as the 2nd Battalion, Bombay, Baroda and Central India Railway Volunteer Corps.
