The Punjai Shiva Temple also referred to as Naltunai Ishvaram Temple is an ancient Hindu temple situated at Punjai near Semponnarkoil in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. The presiding deity of the temple is Lord Shiva worshipped in the form of Nataraja. The temple dating to several years stands as an example of the religious sentiments of the rulers of the bygone eras and is reminiscent of the artistic skills of the craftsmen of the ancient period.
Punjai Shiva Temple is precisely situated in the calm and tranquil ambience of the village of Punjai, away from the cacophony of urban life at a distance of almost 6 kilometres from Semponnarkoil close to poombukar tourist place. The religious edifice, representing the Dravida style of architecture, was built during the period of Rajendra Chola I. The principal idol of Nataraja has been made of bronze and was carved during the 1000 AD.
