According to a legend once some rituals were conducted for the renovation work of the temple by swamiji of Kurtalam. Due to heavy rains the streets around the temple were flooded but there was no rain inside the temple.

Prasanna Anjaneeya Swamy Temple celebrates few festivals on a grand scale. The festival of Hanuman Jayanti is celebrated elaborately on Vishaka Bahula Dasami i.e. the 10th day after the full moon day in the month of Vishakha. The birthday of Lord Hanuman is celebrated for three days during which several rituals are observed such as archana, abhishekam to idol, reciting of Hanuman Chalisa, manya suktha parana, deepalankarana i.e. lighting of lamps and purnahuthi. Prasanna Anjaneeya Swamy Temple faces the southern side. It is believed that the devotees worshipping Lord Hanuman are blessed with success and luck.
