The Nowgong Mounted Rifles, also known as the Newgong Mounted Rifles unit was an erstwhile armed unit that operated under the British Colonial Auxiliary Forces Volunteer Corps of British Indian Army. The unit was a part of the Bengal Army, one of the Presidency Armies in British India. The volunteer corps unit was based in Nowgong (Nagaon district) in Assam.
The Nowgong Mounted Rifles was formed on 27th July 1888 by the British administration in India. The regiment was merged with other volunteer corps regiments to develop the Assam Valley Mounted Rifles in the year 1891.
