Naras Devi Temple, Bilaspur, Himachal PradeshNaras Devi temple is almost 400 years old, dedicated to Goddess Durga, extensively known as Naras Maa. It is located atop the Baroha hilly rock in Naras Village, located within Gherwin and Samoh in Bilaspur district in Himachal Pradesh. The temple is believed to have been built by King Kalyan Chand during the capital establishment of his kingdom.

Numerous legends associate themselves with the Naras Devi Temple. According to such a story, an enormous tree of Summann once stood at the place where Mata`s temple is located in the present day. People believe that once an asteroid kind of blinding light appeared on the tree and suddenly, after some time Mother`s pindi (sacred stone of the divine) was visible below the tree. A fair is held in the Naras Devi Temple complex on the day of Sairi, attracting massive number of worshippers.
