Mohit Sehgal was born on 3rd December 1985 in Chandigarh and brought up in Delhi into a Punjabi family. He has done an acting course from Barry John.

Mohit Sehgal made his debut with the film "Delhi Heights" starring Jimmy Shergill and Neha Dhupia with a character named "Vicky". Then, he entered the serial "Miley Jab Hum Tum" playing the role of "Samrat" that gained him fame. He also hosted the dance reality show "Zara Nach Ke Dhika" (Season 2) for two episodes. He also did advertising work for Dr. Batra`s and Maruti Zen Estilo, and print ads for Gatsby Hair Gel, Reliance P.C.O, Virgin Mobile, and a few magazines.

Mohit Seghal was seen portraying the character of "Haider" in the show "Qubool Hai" on Zee TV. Haider was a very strong character with different shades.

Mohit Sehgal was nominated for "New Talent Awards" for "Best Actor 2009" and got "Kalakar Awards" for "Best Actor", "Best off-screen and on-screen Jodi" with Sanaya Irani.

Personal Life of Mohit Sehgal On 25th January 2016, he married his long time girlfriend Sanaya Irani in Goa to whom he fell in love during the shooting of "Miley Jab Him Tum".
