Career of Jimmy Shergill
Jimmy Shergill entered the world of acting in the year 1996 with the movie Maachis, under the direction of Gulzar. The movie was based on the terrorist activities of Punjab and had gained critical acclimations. The movie did quite well in the box office. Jimmy Shergill gained prominence through this movie in the film industry and was noticed by a number of top filmmakers which paved his way to some of the successful movies of bollywood. Later he was starred in Aditya Chopra`s movie Mohabbatein along with the stalwarts of bollywood including Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Shahrukh Khan. He got consistent rare reviews for his excellent performances in movies like Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai, Munna Bhai, Haasil, A Wednesday, Tanu Weds Manu, Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster and Special 26.

In the year 2005, Jimmy Shergill began acting in Punjabi Films. His debut Punjabi movie was Manmohan Singh`s Yaaran Naal Baharan which gained success in on the box office. Afterwards he started his full fledged journey in Punjabi film industry and acted in several films. Jimmy Shergill has bagged a number of hit movies and is presently recognized among the top actors of the industry. He also tried his hands as a movie producer and has a deal with Eros International, a bollywood production house for the production of a Punjabi movie every year. He also works as an actor in the same. Dharti was his first movie as a producer which was released in 2011. The movie also faired well in box office. Taur Mittran Di was the second film from his production company which released in May 2012.

Personal life of Jimmy Shergill
Jimmy Shergill was born to a Jatt Sikh Punjabi family in the Gorakhpur district of Uttar Pradesh. He started his higher education in St. Paul`s college of Lucknow but after a few years, in 1985, moved to the place of his ancestors, Punjab. Later he completed his education from the Punjab Public School, Nabha and Bikram College, Punjabi University, Patiala. He received his acting training from Sri Harpal Singh. Afterwards, he moved to Mumbai for pursuing a career in the world of entertainment. Jimmy Shergill is married to Priyanka Puri who belongs to Delhi. They have named their son Veer Shergill.
