Lha Khang Soma was built in 1974 and is situated in Alchi in Leh district. It lies south of the Sumstek. This square shaped room comprehends a chorten or consecrated stupa. Carved brackets with lion faces are found on the columns that withstand the raised roof. The temple is ornamented with three mandalas on the western wall. Murals can be found on the Lha Khang Soma, dating back to over 1200 years. Images of Vairochana, Buddha, Bodhisattvas and sentinel figures can be witnessed on the walls.
