Legend of Lord Ganesha and Lord Brahma is related with the childhood of Ganesha. The legend is discussed in the Ganesha Purana, which is an Upapurana.

Legend of Lord Ganesha and Lord BrahmaThe Legend of Lord Ganesha and Lord Brahma is mentioned in the Ganesha Purana. This Purana is considered as an Upapurana which is exclusively to Ganesha, the Lord of Beginnings. The tale mentions that once Ganesha, as an infant, was floating in a river on a banyan tree leaf. Lord Brahma discovered the divine child with the head of an elephant.

Ganesha filled his trunk with water from the river; and after seeing Brahma, the child poured the water all over Lord Brahma. This playfulness of the noble child pleased Lord Brahma immensely and he blessed Ganesha.
