A village in the East Khasi Hills district of Meghalaya, Laitkynsew is famous for its Living Root Bridges. Laitkynsew is one of the reasons for tourism in the East Khasi Hills district and the prime reason of attraction in this village is the century old Umnnoi Root Bridge.
Locally known as "Jingkieng Deingjri", the Umnnoi Root Bridge is about 53 ft long and attracts tourists from all around. Other than the Living Root Bridges, from Laitkynsew the magnificent Nohkalikai Falls can be seen, which originates from the neighbouring village of Nongriat.
