According to the 2011 India census, Khekada had a population of nearby 40,000. Males constitute 54 percent of the population and females 46 percent. It had an average literacy rate of 62 percent, higher than the national average of 59.5 percent; male literacy was 70 percent and female literacy was 52 percent. 16 percent of the population was under 6 years of age.

Industry in Khekada
The main commercial activities of this town include making stainless steel utensils, Hathkargha Udyog, Handicraft power looms and agricultural and farming equipment. Almost all the production of the handloom and power loom units of Khekada is exported to the western world. Its textile industry is famous for home furnishing items like rug, kitchen towels, curtains, table covers, bed sheets, place mats, quilts and napkins. The iron industries manufacture agricultural items like cutters.

Khekada is popular for possessing various religious places like Santo Ka Bara, Kale Singh Temple, Balaji Temple, Jama Masjid, Shiv Mandir etc. There are some popular Jain temples as well, which are Shri Shantinath Digamber Jain temple, Shri Mahaveer Digamber Jain temple, Shri Shantinath (Chota) Digamber Jain temple, Shri Adinath Degamber Jain temple, Shri Chandaprabhu Chatalya temples etc.
