Kalayanallur temple, a small legendary temple is located towards the south of the river Kaveri.

Kalayanallur templeKalayanallur(Saakkottai) temple is the 68th in the series of Tevara Stalams located south of the river Kaveri.

Legends: A deluge that submerged the earth, a kalasam, containing samples of the then existing species settled at this spot, signifying the magic of creation hence the name Amrita Kalasam. This temple is also called Kottai Sivan temple because it is believed that the temple was surrounded by a fortress. Given the Buddhist population surrounding this area it is also known as Sakya Kottai hence Sakkottai.

Temple: This is a small temple, with a single prakaram with a tank. The Saptastana festival is observed in the month of Chittirai.
