Janana Shanti is the ritual to check the maligning effects of various planets on the newborn baby. Generally it is done on the eleventh day on the birth of the infant. The Janana Shanti procedure involves observing and learning the horoscope of the infant like time, date, planetary positions are calculated and respective measures of `Shanti` or peace is recommended to minimize the intensity of the bad effect of the planet, if there is any. This procedure also enhances the positive effect of the planet. This ritual or Samskara can be practiced any time in life in case one has missed the earlier at the time of birth.
