Jalapa Mai Sangirathi Temple is a spectacular place of worship, girded by hillocks. Situated in Sagirthin Village, about 14km from Bilaspur, on the Bilaspur-Shimla Road, the temple enshrines a black coloured idol of Goddess Sangirathi. The original name of the goddess is believed to have been Sukriti, which in due time was transformed into Sangirathi. It is believed that a certain Chandel King, who was paying a visit to Mata Jwalamukhi by this road, had established the idol of the goddess here and afterwards Raja Deep Chand built a temple in honour of the same. By the side of the Jalapa Mai Sangirathi Temple, there exists an incessantly flowing natural source of water. Kiratpur Sahib railway Station is the nearest railhead.
