Honey Irani, Indian ScreenwriterAn award-winning Indian screenwriter, Honey Irani is the former wife of Javed Akhtar and mother of director Farhan Akhtar and Zoya Akhtar. She is the sister of famous child artist of the 50`s and 60`s Daisy Irani and the aunt of Farah Khan. She began her Bollywood career as a child actress who has acted in more than 72 films and after retiring she became a successful scriptwriter.

Personal Life of Honey Irani
Honey Irani was born on 25th August 1955 in Mumbai. She had two elder sisters, Menaka Khan and Daisy Irani. Irani was born in a Zoroastrian family. On 21st March 1972, she married the popular script-writer and poet Javed Akhtar. But later the marriage got ended up in divorce in the mid 1970s. The couple had two children- Zoya and Farhan Akhtar.

Honey Irani started her career as child artist and she acted in the films like Chirag Kahan Roshni Kahan and Bombay Ka Chor. Later, after her divorce she started doing embroidery sarees to support her family. As she had the skill of writing short stories, once she narrated the story idea of Aaina to Pam Chopra, wife of Yash Chopra. Her idea was to make it a TV series but Yash Chopra turned it into a film, which was released in 1993. But her career as a script-writer started with the film Lamhe (1991), for which she won the Filmfare Award for Best Story. This was the beginning of her career as a successful script-writer. Later, again she won the award for Kya Kehna in 2002 and Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai in 2001. In 2003, she directed a film also named "Armaan".
