Gomedh Yaksh
Gomedh Yaksh is a legendry character who had resorted to many evil deeds and was even punished for it. Later by worshipping Sri Raivatgiri he got liberated of his sins.
However Gomedh`s past life`s good deeds helped him to overcome his pains. One day a sanyasi was while through the streets saw the pitiable condition of the man and came forward to help him. The sage reminded him of his awful deeds and told him it was for his bad deeds that he has to suffer so much pain. Finally he warned him that if he wished to get rid of his pain and wish to avoid getting such punishments even in his next birth then me must embrace Jainism and surrender himself at the feet of the Lord. The sage asked him to apologize for his evil deeds. The sanyasi asked Gomedh to pray to Sri Raivatgiri to forgive him of his sins.
On hearing the words of the sage Gomedh began praying to the Lord meditating in Raivatgiri. He slowly became submerged in his worship and prayers. He immersed himself deep in the Samta Sea and thus attained Moksha.
