Fathgarh Temple

Fathgarh temple is a temple of prehistoric origin, some parts of it are already in ruins due to its long existence. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple measures about 28 feet x 9 inches internally. There is a Shivling (a phallus, symbolic structure of Lord Shiva) placed in the cellar which is ornamented with a torus moulding. The front elevation of the platform is decked with two rows of trefoiled recesses. The novelty of the temple lies in its ceiling, which is straight-lined and triangular in section as in Narastan temple. Inventive works can be witnessed in the cellar. Fathgarh temple, with its open doorway facing the northwestern direction, has a predominantly imposing appearance. There is a brick well in the southeastern direction of the temple premise.
