Esha Kansara is an Indian television actress, model and dancer, who rose to popularity with her portrayal of the female protagonist Devki Shah Virani in Colors TV"s series "Mukti Bandhan", opposite Siddharth Arora. She was last seen in the role of female lead character Kritika "Kittu" Shergill in STAR Plus" daily soap opera "Ek Nanad Ki Khushiyon Ki Chaabi... Meri Bhabhi", opposite Vipul Gupta, which went off air in April 2014. Esha Kansara has also worked in some movies.
Early Life and Education of Esha Kansara
Esha Kansara was born on August 20, 1992 and brought up in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. She first studied in Amrit Jyoti School and later in Hiramani School, both in Ahmedabad. She later moved to Mumbai and completed her education in Mithibai College, in the year 2013. Esha is a trained classical dancer, having learnt Bharatanatyam for seven years in Ahmedabad and done her Arangetram (stage debut) on June 26, 2006. She had also won "Nrutyam", a state level dance competition. In 2009, Esha was the 2nd runner-up in the Miss Gujarat beauty contest.
Television Career of Esha Kansara
Having always aspired to become an actress, Esha Kansara got her first opportunity on Indian television, to audition for Colors TV"s "Mukti Bandhan", a television series adaptation of Harkishan Mehta`s novel of the same name. Esha had earlier appeared on television as one of the Top 100 Finalists in the Indian dance reality show "Dance India Dance" on Zee TV, in the year 2010. She made her acting debut with "Mukti Bandhan", in the role of the female lead Devki Shah Virani, a contemporary woman with ambitions having her roots intact at the same time. The series premiered on January 10, 2011, and she was seen opposite actor Siddharth Arora. She rose to popularity with the show, and it aired last on September 29, 2011. While working in "Mukti Bandhan", Esha also made an appearance in the Colors TV reality show "Kitchen Champion 4", as her character Devki and part of the Kissan Chatpati Kudiyaan team. The actress was also nominated for the Face of Progress in the Golden Petal Awards. Esha Kansera made a comeback to television in the year 2013, as the female protagonist Kritika "Kittu" Anand Shergill in STAR Plus" popular soap opera "Ek Nanad Ki Khushiyon Ki Chaabi... Meri Bhabhi", created by Indian TV production company DJ"s Creative Unit. The show premiered on June 17, 2013, outlining the bond of love between the "nanad" and "bhabhi" (sisters-in-law) of the Shergill family. Esha appeared as a typical Punjabi girl who is very chirpy and bubbly by nature and a responsible daughter-in-law, opposite actor Vipul Gupta, and her portrayal earned her a nomination in the Favourite Bahu category at the STAR Parivaar Awards 2014. The show ran till April 12, 2014.
Later that very year, Esha appeared in an episode on UTV Bindaas" popular show "Yeh Hai Aashiqui" as Avantika, a timid girl from a small town who becomes a victim of sexual harassment at work amidst which she finds true love who saves her from the clutches of her evil boss. The episode that aired on August 10, 2014, was hosted by TV actor Rithvik Dhanjani and saw the actress featuring opposite Neeraj Malvia.
