The East Coast Rifle Volunteer Corps, also known as the Vizagapatam Rifle Volunteer Corps, was a former infantry regiment of the Volunteer Corps under the British Indian Army. It was raised as the Godavari Rifle Volunteers on 9th June 1885. The regiment served under the Madras Army which operated as a part of the Presidency Armies in British India. The East Coast Rifle Volunteer Corps was also administered by the Madras Command. It was established in the north eastern region of the Madras Presidency.
The headquarters of the battalion was located in Waltair (now Visakhapatnam). The uniform of the East Coast Rifle Volunteer Corps included formal Khaki drill. In 1901 the detached companies of the unit were stationed to different bases at Garividi, Samalkot, Nellore, Berhampore (Madras Presidency), Bimlipatam, Vizianagram, Gunter, Bezwada, Rajahmundry, Masulipatama and Coconada. On 14th October 1890, the battalion was renamed as East Coast Rifle Volunteers.
