Dwivida

Dwivida is an Asura. Dwivida committed great devastation in the form of an ape. He was a great enemy of the friends of the gods. The whole world was disordered by Dwivida and was deprived of sacred study and religious rites.

On one occasion, when Balarama was enjoying himself in the groves of Raivata, the monkey Dwivida came there. Dwivida threw over the wine and groaned at the company. Thereafter an encounter started in which the monkey struck the Yadava on the breast with his paws. Balarama replied with a blow of his fist upon the forehead of Dwivida, which knocked him down lifeless to the earth. The crest of the mountain on which he fell was broken into a hundred pieces by the weight of his body, as if the thunder had shivered it with his thunderbolt.

Again, Dwivida is the name of one of the sons of the Asvins, renowned for his beauty.
