Bareilly District

Bareilly district belongs to Uttar Pradesh. Its capital is Bareilly city and it is divided in six administrative division or tehsils like Aonla, Baheri, Bareilly city, Faridpur, Mirganj, and Nawabganj. Bareilly district is a part of the Bareilly Division and occupies an area of 4120 square km with a population of 3,618,589 people. In Mahabharata, the Bareilly region (Panchala) is described as the birthplace of Draupadi, also referred to as Panchali. 

After Yudhishthira became the king at the end of the Mahabharata, she became his queen. In the 12th century, several clans of Kshatriya Rajputs ruled the kingdom. After the Islamic invasion, the region became part of the Delhi Sultanate before getting absorbed by the emerging Mughal Empire. Mukrand Rai founded the modern city of Bareilly in 1657. Later it became the capital of the Rohilkhand region before getting handed over to Nawab of Awadh and then to the <b><a href="https://www.indianetzone.com/british_east_india_company" class="clsCrossLink" title="British East India Company">British East India Company</a></b>, becoming an integral part of India.


Basti District

Basti district is one of the districts of Uttar Pradesh state and Basti town is the district headquarters. Basti district is a part of Basti Division. Gonda District

Gonda District is one of the districts of Uttar Pradesh. The city of Gonda is the district headquarters and the administrative centre for the Devipatan Division.



Gorakhpur District

Gorakhpur is a city located along the banks of Rapti river in the eastern part of Uttar Pradesh. It is located near the Nepal border, 273 kilometers east of the state capital Lucknow. It is the administrative headquarter of Gorakhpur District and Gorakhpur Division. The city is home to the <b><a href="https://www.indianetzone.com/gorakhnath_temple" class="clsCrossLink" title="Gorakhnath Temple">Gorakshanath Temple</a></b>. This is the place where the Holy Gita is published throughout the year to the global populace. The Nawab of Awadh ceded the district to the British East India Company in 1801. <b><a href="https://www.indianetzone.com/railway_museum" class="clsCrossLink" title="Railway Museum">Railway Museum</a></b>, Kushmi Forest, Gita Vatika, Neernikunj Water Park, Vidyavasini Park, Indra Bal Vihar Park, Nir Nikunj, St. Joseph`s Cathedral, Vishnu Mandir, Baba Mahendra Nath Temple and Nehru Park are the popular tourism destinations.
