Chamba District
Chamba is the northwestern district of Himachal Pradesh. The headquarters of Chmba District is the Chamba town. The towns of Dalhousie and Khajjhiar are popular hill stations in Himachal Pradesh. There are other vacation spots for the people from the plains of northern India. Chamba is the only district in northern India to preserve a well-documented history from 500 AD. Its high mountain ranges have given it a sheltered position and helped in preserving its centuries-old relics and numerous inscriptions of several dynasties and tribal kingdom. The temples of Chamba District that were erected by the royal dynasties of Chamba more than a thousand years ago, continue to be under worship and the land grant-deeds executed on copper plates by them continue to be valid under the law.
Lahaul-Spiti District
This district is known for the Buddhist monasteries. The district of Lahaul-Spiti in Himachal Pradesh consists of the two formerly separate districts of Lahaul and Spiti. The present administrative centre is Keylong in Lahaul. Before the two districts were merged, Kardang was the capital of Lahaul, and Dhankar the capital of Spiti. The district was formed in 1960. Kunzum la or the Kunzum Pass is the entrance pass to the Spiti Valley from Lahaul. It is 21 km from Chandra Tal. Lahaul-Spiti District is connected to Manali through the Rohtang Pass. To the south, Spiti ends 24 km from Tabo, at the Sumdo where the road enters Kinnaur and joins with National Highway No. 22.
Kangra District
Kangra is the most populous district of Himachal Pradesh. Dharamshala is the administrative headquarters of the district. It is home of Masrur Temple, which attracts the tourists most.
Kullu District
Kullu District is one of the tourist attraction areas in Himachal Pradesh. Kullu District stretches from the village of Rampur in the south to the Rohtang Pass in the North. The largest valley in the district is called the Kullu Valley, which is also known as the Valley of the Gods. There is also a town called Kullu which sits on the banks of the Beas River in the central part of the valley.
