Chota Mangwa is relatively a new tourist destination of exclusive remote retreat with panoramic view of the alpine Himalaya. The tranquil village is located on the top of the Mangwa Hill in Darjeeling district amidst orange gardens with astounding views of Mt. Kanchenjungha and Teesta River. The entire vegetation and forests in this region come in the Senchal Range. This hilly area is covered with tall Coniferous Cryptomaria, which is locally called Dhupi.

Chota Mangwa has not yet witnessed much ray of development in education and other facilities. The locals are essentially engaged in cultivation. The most commonly produced crop is rice, which is cultivated along with a number of vegetables like Squash. Oranges are found in abundance, covering the entire village with an orange coloured hue during the blooming season from October to February. Besides Oranges, loads of yellow hued, sweet and juicy Lemons (Mausambi) also grow in Chota Mangwa.

The main attractions of this place are to experience the views of Kanchenjungha and Teesta River; the spectacular sunrise is another thing to experience here. People are even allowed to pick up the Oranges which are fallen off on the ground. Though Chota Mangwa can be visited throughout the year, yet the best time is from October to February to see the orchards full with Oranges. Monsoon season is generally avoided by the tourists. Chota Mangwa is reachable from Kurseong, Mirik and Darjeeling via Jorebangla. Darjeeling is 35 km from this place. It can also be reached from NJP, Bagdogra, Sikkim, Kalimpong and Dooars via Teesta Bazar. Gangtok is 62 km away from Chota Mangwa.
