Chota Amarnath Temple, Anantnag, Jammu & KashmirThe Chota Amarnath temple is located at Thajiwara near Anantnag, Jammu & Kashmir. It is about 2km from Bijbehara, a historical village, housing a bunch of ruined temples. The presiding deity of Chota Amarnath is Lord Shiva, worshipped in the form of a `lingam` (a phallus, symbolic structure of the Lord). The temple, though is now in a decrepit state. The temple is accessible by road from Anantnag on the Srinagar-Anantnag national highway. The shrine can also be reached from Pahalgam.
