Bija Ganapati is widely worshipped by the devotees all over the country. It is one of the most celebrated forms of Lord Ganesha. The deity is portrayed in a red complexion and is adorned with vermilion all over His body. In this incarnation, Lord Ganesha has three eyes, four arms and a crescent moon over his head.
Bija Ganapati carries a goad and a noose in two of his four arms. The other two hands display specific types of yoga mudras, namely Abhaya Mudra and Varada Mudra. The elephant headed Lord is seated over a lotus seat. The ancient Hindu religious texts also describe another form of Bija Ganapati wherein He is depicted with ten arms and purple complexion. The Lord is seated in Padmasana (lotus position in yoga). He holds separate objects in his right hands, such as, sugarcane, a trident, a chakra, paddy and goad or mace. While the left hands carry a broken tusk, corn, an utpala, a noose and a conch.
