The Bhimakali Temple located at Sarahan is a sacred temple of the Hindus and is an architectural marvel. It is reputed to be at least 800 years old and is dedicated to Goddess Durga or Bhimakali. Moreover, it is considered as one of the significant Shakti Peethas of Shaivite Hindus.

Amidst the green Himalayas, this temple reflects a unique blend of Hindu and Buddhist temple styles. It is beautifully crafted and has six silver coated doors. The slanting wooden roofs of the temple are exquisitely carved and slightly concave.

Majority of the temples in India goes by a myth and Bhimakali Temple too is of no exception. It is believed that the Bhimakali temple was a bit tilted in the earthquake of 1905. After this another tremor had straightened the temple. Again another myth illustrates that the temple has a secret tunnel inside it.

The Bhimakali Temple complex also boasts two other temples dedicated to Lord Narsingha and Lord Raghunath. The idol of Bhimakali situated in the second floor is worshipped daily.

According to history, this temple belonged to the Bushair rulers of Rampur in Shimla and the royal palaces are located near the temple. A glimpse of the Srikhand Peak, the abode of Goddess Lakshmi can be viewed from the Bhimakali Temple.
